NEET UG 2022 EXAM

ABout

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is held every year to help students secure admission to the top medical institutions in India. This year, students competed for 63835 medical seats in private, central and state-funded institutions. Including AIIMS and JIPMER, NEET is widely considered to be one of the main medical entrance examinations for students in India. All major dental and medical colleges offer students admission on the basis of their scores in this exam only.More than 14 lakh candidates gave NEET 2020 in 136 cities. This year, the examination was conducted in 11 different languages – English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Oriya, Kannada and Urdu.

eligibility

Age:

  1. The minimum age limit for NEET is 17 years on 31st December of the year of admission.
  2. The upper age limit for NEET is 25 years for General candidates and 30 years for reserved categories.

12th or Other Equivalent Examination: Students must have passed or should be appearing for their 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or any other elective subject with English. 

Along with this, the candidate should fulfill the following criteria:
  1. 10+2 or HSC with 45% marks for General Category i.e. the candidate must have passed in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology with a minimum aggregate of 45%.
  2. 10+2 or HSC with 40% marks for OBC, SC and ST Categories i.e. the candidate must have passed in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology with a minimum aggregate of 40%.
  3. The qualifying marks for candidates in PH and PwD categories stands at 40% marks for Gen-PH and 40% for SC-PH, ST-PH and OBC-PH candidates with locomotory disability of lower limbs.

Step 1: Fill the Application Form
• Go the official portal of the conducting authority (Link is given above).
• Click on “Apply Online” link.
New Registration
• Fill the registration form carefully.
  • Candidates have to fill their name, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name, Category, Date of Birth, Gender, Nationality, State of Eligibility (for 15% All India Quota), Mobile Number, Email ID, Aadhaar card number, etc.
  • After filling all the details, two links will be given “Preview &Next” and “Reset”.
  •  If candidate satisfied with the filled information, then they have to click on “Next”.
  •  After clicking on Next Button, the information submitted by the candidate will be displayed on the screen. If information correct, click on “Next” button, otherwise go for “Back” button.
  •  Candidates may note down the registration number for further procedure.
  •  Now choose the strong password and re enter the password.
  • Choose security question and feed answer.
  • Enter the OTP would be sent to your mobile number.
  • Submit the button.

Login & Application Form Filling
  • Login with your Registration Number and password.
  •  Fill personal details.
  • Enter place of birth.
  • Choose the medium of question paper.
  • Choose examination centres.
  • Fill permanent address.
  • Fill correspondence address.
  • Fill Details (qualification, occupation, annual income) of parents and guardians.
  • Choose the option for dress code.
  • Enter security pin & click on save & draft.
  • Now click on preview and submit.
  • Now, review your entries.
  • Then. click on Final Submit.

Step 2: Upload Photo and Signature
• Step 2 for images upload will be appeared on screen.
• Now, click on link for Upload photo & signature.
• Upload the scanned images.
• Candidate should have scanned images of his latest Photograph (size of 10 Kb to 100 Kb.

• Signature(size of 3 Kb to 20 Kb) in JPEG format only

Step 3: Fee Payment
• After uploading the images, candidate will automatically go to the link for fee payment.
• A candidate has to follow the instruction & submit the application fee.
• Choose the Bank for making payment.
• Go for Payment.
• Candidate can pay the fee through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/e-wallet (CSC).

Step 4: Take the Printout of Confirmation Page
• After the fee payment, a candidate may take the printout of the confirmation page.
• Candidates may keep at least three copies of the confirmation page.

exam pattern

  • The exam will be conducted in a Pen and Paper Based format. Candidates will have to mark their responses in the OMR answer sheet, provided during the exam, using a ballpoint pen.
  • The NEET 2020 question booklet will consist of 180 questions from all three subjects. Physics and Chemistry will account for of 45 questions each, while Biology will account of 90 questions.

  • All questions will be of multiple-choice type, with 4 options and only 1 correct choice.
  • The NEET 2020 question paper will be conducted in nine vernacular languages apart from English and Hindi. These languages are Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya, Kannada and Urdu.
  • Each question in the NEET 2020 question paper will carry 4 marks. Correct answers will yield 4 marks while incorrect answers will result in a deduction of 1 mark. No marks will be given or deducted for unmarked questions.

  • Make a Study Schedule: You should prepare a good timetable for your exam preparation. Make sure to include little intervals between study hours. Preparing as per a timetable will help you cover all parts of the syllabus.

You have to work hard and try to solve the weaker topics with the help of your teacher, friends, and parents. This will let you overcome your fears effectively and help you get better at understanding concepts in the future.
  • Gather Good Study Material: For NEET, preparing from the best study NEET books is really beneficial. Try to refer books which contain the complete CBSE syllabus.

  • Maintain Your Health: While preparing for NEET, you should always take care of your health as it helps you concentrate on your studies. Avoid junk and oily foods and make a strict diet plan. Do meditation and yoga exercises to remain fit and achieve a better state of mind.
  • Practice Online Mock Tests: Mock tests can help you in cracking the NEET exam effortlessly. They are available for each and every subject and cover all chapters and topics. Mock tests will improve your skills, knowledge, performance and time management. Find NEET Question papers and try to attempt them by setting a time limit of 3 hours to simulate a real exam situation.

ADMIT CARD

The Admit Card of NEET 2022 is available online only. Candidates can the below steps to download it correctly.

  1. Click this link to start downloading the NEET 2022 Admit Card.
  2. After clicking the link, you will find three boxes asking for the registration number, date of birth and security pin.
  3. Enter your details in each box and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  4. You will now be redirected to your NEET 2022 Admit Card in pdf format.
  5. You can now download it and take printouts.
The NEET 2022 Admit Card contains specific details of the candidate and exam, such as the candidate’s name, roll number, registration number, address of examination centre and instructions to be followed inside the examination hall.

QUALIFICATION

In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test to MBBS/BDS Courses held for the said academic year. However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of the candidates with Bench Marked Disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile for General category candidates and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.
