The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is held every year to help students secure admission to the top medical institutions in India. This year, students competed for 63835 medical seats in private, central and state-funded institutions. Including AIIMS and JIPMER, NEET is widely considered to be one of the main medical entrance examinations for students in India. All major dental and medical colleges offer students admission on the basis of their scores in this exam only.More than 14 lakh candidates gave NEET 2020 in 136 cities. This year, the examination was conducted in 11 different languages – English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Oriya, Kannada and Urdu.
12th or Other Equivalent Examination: Students must have passed or should be appearing for their 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or any other elective subject with English.

In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses for a particular academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test to MBBS/BDS Courses held for the said academic year. However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of the candidates with Bench Marked Disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile for General category candidates and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.
